These sweet boutique beans originate in the mountains of Naranjo’s coffee-growing region in the West Valley of Costa Rica. We carefully selected fully ripened cherries from February’s peak harvest. Each and every basket harvested and delivered was thoroughly checked guaranteeing the continuing process of quality. The teamwork in our boutique mill involves a clear concept of the importance of quality. We eagerly awaited the arrival of these special cherries at Lomas Al Rio in order to pamper them during the remaining processes: from de-pulping to storage. These cherries were semi-washed in order to carefully sun dry the mucilage and the sugars with the parchment. This is a meticulous process which we fully supervised. Every step was carefully monitored in a way that we cup-tested, batch by batch, assuring that each cup offered sweet, rich, honey flavors. As a contribution to the community where our mill is located, we are donating 10% of the total sale of this lot to local day care centers.
